What is IXC Commons?

The IXC Commons group at a build session in Chandigarh.

What is IXC Commons?

IXC Commons is an independent community for people building with AI in and around Chandigarh, India. It is not a company, a course, or a paid membership, it is a small, recurring group of builders who meet in person to work on real things, in the same room, at the same time.

There is no online-only version of IXC Commons. Sessions happen in Chandigarh, and the point is to be physically in the room with your laptop open.

Who runs it

IXC Commons is run by Raghav Arora and Ayush Basral. Both are practicing builders, not organizers-by-profession, the sessions are run the way the two of them would want to spend an afternoon if they were building something themselves.

What actually happens at a session

Two formats have run so far:

  • Claude Code Workshops, hands-on, laptop-open sessions. The only goal is that everyone leaves with something that runs, not notes on something they might build later.
  • Coffee with Claude, one room at a time, aimed at a single audience per session (sales, entrepreneurs, developers). Each session goes deep on one group instead of broad on everyone.

There are no slides and no one presenting at the room. A session is closer to a shared work afternoon than a talk, people bring a real problem, work on it with AI tools like Claude Code, and compare notes with whoever is next to them.

See the full session log for exactly what has run so far, with real photos from each one.

How to join

The fastest way in is the WhatsApp group, that is where the next session gets announced first, before it shows up anywhere else. From there:

Why "IXC Commons"

"IXC" is shorthand for the Chandigarh tricity area (Chandigarh, plus the surrounding satellite cities). "Commons" is the actual point: a shared, open room that anyone building with AI in the region can walk into, rather than a closed group built around one company or product.

It is early, a handful of sessions so far, and a small group of people who keep turning up to them. That is the whole model: show up, build something real, and see who else is in the room.
